  • Overview

    The position of ISO Management System Manager is located at the Hawthorne Army Depot, near the modest, west central Nevada, “High-desert, mountain-side”, community of Hawthorne. Hawthorne Army Depot, known as “The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world,” is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities in Northern Nevada and Northern California.     • Support managers in the certification process to assure ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification for Depot Maintenance and Supply Services operations.  Act as administrator and manages the integrated ISO management system and the managers of those systems to assure that certification is maintained. Leads and conducts internal audits to ensure compliance to ISO system throughout SOC. Provides leadership, training and guidance in management systems and processes to all depot employees.
    • Leads in developing and implementing UXO Quality Assurance and Control program. Comply with contractual requirements including State, Federal and Dept of Defense Quality Assurance in Ammunition, regulations and policies. Provide professional and technical level guidance to the organization and subordinate personnel in the field of UXO quality assurance and safety.
    • Ensure organization employees are properly trained/certified to the required levels to comply with established standards for UXO quality & safety. Perform field training, oversight and quality control to field operations.
    • Assist in the effective and efficient management of all resources assigned and /or allocated  for the execution of the mission, functions, and contractual requirements.
    • Must be responsible for representing and maintaining all Company and departmental safety guidelines and OSHA regulations.  Responsible for reporting potential and real environmental concerns to the Environmental Service.


    • Knowledge and ability to manage and maintain the certification process to assure ISO certification for Depot Maintenance and Supply Services operations along with UXO clearance activities. 
    • Ability to evaluate and prepare work requests, job estimates, control budgets and prepare required reports.
    • Knowledge and ability to develop and maintain policies, procedures and techniques.
    • Must be able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
    • Must be able to operate a computer connected terminal device.
    • Appropriate Associate Technical Degree,  B.S. /B.A. Degree in related field desired or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Technical training in Quality Control, Quality Assurance and UXO certification or similar required. 
    • Minimum three (3) years experience in Quality Control/Assurance and 8 years in UXO related field.  2 years Lead Auditor certification and experience. Prior supervisory experience preferred.
    • Must satisfactorily complete the Training and Certification Program for Personnel Working in Ammunition Operations required by AMC Regulation 350-4. Maintaining current certification is a condition of continued employment.
    • Must posses or be able to obtain and maintain a valid State drivers license unless physically unqualified to obtain such a license.
    • Must be able to secure and maintain a Secret Clearance.
