  • Overview

    The position of PC Support Technician 2 is located at the Hawthorne Army Depot, near the modest, west central Nevada, “High-desert, mountain-side”, community of Hawthorne. Hawthorne Army Depot, known as “The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world,” is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities in Northern Nevada and Northern California.     This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement.


    • Provide support for distributed PC/networking environment including installation, testing, repair, and troubleshooting.
    • Supports all PC users with technical support for stand-alone PCs, Network PCs, printers, and other computer peripherals. 
    • Installs and tests personal computers, printers and other peripherals, installs and configures operation system, and other application software programs.
    • Plans, schedules and executes the maintenance, repair and installation of all computers and peripheral devices operated by the corporation or its customers.
    • Provides technical support to users of personal computers either by telephone, remote access, or on-site for PC desktop hardware and software.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license unless physically unqualified to obtain such a license.  
    • Perform other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned.  May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above.
    • Show awareness and support of the Company Ethics Program.


    • Ability to provide remote, touch labor and technical desktop support to PC users
    • Ability to complete administrative support tasks (documentation)
    • Ability to research, test, execute and document troubleshooting procedures
    • Excellent customer support skillsEffective Time Management skills
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by SOC's Master Training Plan.
    • A.S. degree in Computer Science/Computer Technology, A+/Network+ certification, or appropriate combination of education and experience in Computer Technology preferred.
    • Education or two (2) years experience in hardware/software problem-solving for the appropriate systems.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada drivers license unless physically unqualified to obtain such a license.
