  • Overview

    The Station Designer is responsible for developing the initial configuration of the site alarm stations. The incumbent creates and modifies security alarm station configurations and proposes database changes. The station designer is responsible for configuring alarms and video associated with the alarms. The individual is responsible to maintain the video assessment system and configure cameras to function with the system. The designer is responsible to implement and maintain video systems associated with security alarms stations.
    The individual will be responsible for maintaining the network infrastructure will support and maintain the network infrastructure utilized by Argus and other security systems. The individual will configure and install network devices (i.e.: routers, switches, firewalls) required to support the security systems. This individual complies with DOE orders to ensure alarm stations and cameras are configured to comply with orders.

    Interface with Security Engineering to develop station design to meet security needs.

    Maintain Video assessment system


    • Ability to design and implement computer network solutions
    • Ability to read and interpret design drawings
    • Knowledge of computer networking and network equipment.
    • Intermediate-level computer skills that include all the Microsoft Office Suite software as well as software involved with Argus Security System
    • Knowledgeable in Federal and State Laws and Regulations, Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, Manuals, Guides, and Standards, NNSA procedures, all NNSS site security procedures and policies to include extensive knowledge of the Site Security Plan requirements as they relate to Security Systems utilized to protect Special Nuclear Material, Classified Material, and DOE/NNSA facilities
    • Associate degree or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science
    • Three (3) years’ experience working directly with security systems alarm stations and access control panels.
    • Valid US Driver’s License and be able to obtain a Nevada Driver’s License
