  • Overview

    The position of Network Administrator is located at the Hawthorne Army Depot, near the modest, west central Nevada, “High-desert, mountain-side”, community of Hawthorne. Hawthorne Army Depot, known as “The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world,” is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities in Northern Nevada and Northern California.     Manage the Corporate and Government local area network and wide area network systems. To plan and implement the content and procedures, data organization, data storage and security for all computer and network systems. The Network Administrator will exercise discretion and independent judgment to facilitate the goals and objectives of the network management plan. Plan and acquire resources in support of the local and wide area networks. Work requires the exercise of discretion and independent judgment. Perform other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned. May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above. Maintain high ethical standards, overall values of the business, and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct to include cooperating during Company investigations; treat all individuals fairly and with respect.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan and coordinate the utilization and implementation of all automated information systems, sub systems and their resources in the information network to support the requirements for the corporation.
    • Oversee computer resources and planning for computer support for the local and wide area networks, network development, administration, maintenance, enhancements and special projects related to the appropriate requirements of the network systems.
    • Provide System security to the local and wide area networks as required by the ITsecurity plan.
    • Must be able to operate a computer connected terminal device.
    • Responsible for reporting potential real environmental concerns to the Environmental Service.

    Qualifications

    • Must be able to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
    • Ability to plan and maintain network development, administration, maintenance, and enhancements according to appropriate requirements.
    • Knowledge of network security systems.
    • Must have the capabilities to implement the content and procedures, data organization, data storage and security for all computer and network systems.
    • Must be able to operate a computer connected terminal device and computer based programs.
    • B.S. /B.A. degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology or Appropriate combination of Education and Experience in System Administration.
    • Four (4) years experience in Communications and Network Administration.
    • Must be able to complete Security+ and Server+ within 6 months of employment.
    • Should be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada drivers license unless physically unqualified to obtain such a license.
    • Must be able to secure and maintain a Secret Clearance.
