Hawthorne Army Depot, known as “The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world,” is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities, located in Northern Nevada and Northern California, including South Lake Tahoe, Reno/Sparks, Carson City, Fernley and Sparks, all of which offer abundant opportunities and access to high quality shopping, recreation, health care, education and entertainment.

Prepares and updates electronic drawings and maintains library and files of drawings, plans, schematics for Engineers, Planners, and Customers. Incorporates new information about utilities, buildings, and infrastructure, to ensure correct data is available in visual format, both electronically and on paper.
Working closely with design originators or independently, prepares preliminary and final scale drawings for projects that may include new features and nonstandard design characteristics. Prepare detail drawings with drawings for complex and intricate systems and equipment, such as tools, fixtures, mechanical valve and gear assemblies, hydraulic pumps, electrical switch gear, circuitry, and distribution systems
Develop complete layouts with supporting detail drawings of buildings, structures, systems, or equipment for which standard precedents are not applicable. Performs unusually difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and drafting expertise.
Compute quantity of materials, load capacities, etc., using prescribed source data, standard formulas and manuals. Prepare project cost estimates and provide project justifications. Work with internal and external customers to satisfy requirements
Must be able to operate computer devices for engineering purposes, such as CAD/CAM or similar commercially available or proprietary systems. Solid Works and BIS Systems are also desired.

May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above. Maintain high ethical standards, overall values of the business, and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct to include cooperating during Company investigations; Responsible for reporting potential real environmental concerns to the Environmental Service.
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Certifiable technical training in the field of Electronic or CAD drafting required.
Experience: Four (4) years experience as a Drafter. Formal education or a combination of education and experience may be substituted, as appropriate.
Certifications: Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by SOC's Master Training Plan.
Licenses/Registrations: Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada drivers license unless physically unqualified to obtain such a license. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance though the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms
Other: Must be able to work in a constant state of alertness in a safe manner. Perform safety sensitive duties.
