  • Overview

    SOC is searching for an Instructor for our Livermore, CA location.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible to ensure that all training required by SOC personnel at SNL/CA is completed.
    • Responsible to ensure the development, scheduling and conduct of all Protective Force Training, both formal classes and on-the-job training.
      • This training includes:
        • Basic Security Police Officer Training (BSPOT)
        • CAS Operator training
        • Supervisor training
        • Refresher training for all positions.
    • Responsible to complete and track all training records for SOC personnel at SNL/CA. 
    • Responsible to complete and update the annual training plan (ATP) for SOC at SNL/CA.
    • Responsible to track all on post and off post training hours.
    • The Instructor also oversees the Enterprise Mission Essential Task List (EMTL) program in conjunction with the Curriculum Developer consisting of on-shift training exercises and performance tests and ensures that ongoing educational requirements for training personnel are met annually.

    Qualifications

    • Prior experience as a DOE trainer is preferred.
    • Supervisory experience in the professional security field is preferred with an emphasis on Department of Energy Protective Force operations.
    • Strong writing and communication skills as well as organizational skills.
    • Strong Computer skills required.
    • Capability to assign and balance a variety of priorities and tasks. 
    • Capability to effectively direct the efforts of staff members.
    • College degree preferred or equivalent experience. NNSI/NTC certification (or equivalent) as an instructor. Additional and/or specialized education in the training or Protective Force Operations is a plus.
    • Recommended completion of the following NNSI/NTC training courses prior to or with in eighteen months of assignment to this position:
      • Curriculum Development Training (MIT-210)
      • Job Analysis (MIT-120)
      • Basic Instructor Training (MIT-111)
      • Firearms Instructor Certification (PFT-401)
      • Intermediate Force Instructor Course (IFIC)
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE security clearance
