    The position of Guard II , with SOC LLC, A Day and Zimmermann Company, is located at the Hawthorne Army Depot, near the modest, west central Nevada, “High-desert, mountain-side”, community of Hawthorne.     Hawthorne Army Depot, known as “The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world,” is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities, located in Northern Nevada and Northern California, including South Lake Tahoe, Reno/Sparks, Carson City, Fernley and Sparks, all of which offer abundant opportunities and access to high quality shopping, recreation, health care, education and entertainment.

    HWAD, is also located near the East Gate to Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Lakes, Heavenly and Mt. Rose ski resorts, and a comfortable 4 -5 hour drive North West of Las Vegas , NV. For our outdoor enthusiasts, there are abundant opportunities nearby for hiking, biking, fishing, camping, ATV/UTV and other sports.

    This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement.

    Responsibilities

    • Conducts armed patrols mounted and on foot, performes physical checks to ensure the security of all property on the installation. Climbs up and down stairs/ladders regularly.
    • Stands at entrance/exit points performs inspections on vehicles or personal property to prevent the theft of Government material. Provides excellent customer service. Monitors and directs operation of motor vehicles within the Depot. Identifies and cite persons who fail to comply with established rules and procedures
    • Maintains constant visual observation of the Hawthorne Army Depot, reports any observed situations or criminal activity. Responds to possible criminal activity (i.e. trespassers, hostile intruders, domestic disturbances, physical altercations, etc.)
    • Responds to and investigates various incidents including dispatches, alarms, and observed/reported situations to insure the security of the Depot property and personnel. Serves as first responder to cordon off/contain an area during spills and discharges which may contain hazardous substances.
    • Provides secure vehicle escorts for explosive ladened tractor-trailers.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION: Minnimum High School diploma or equivalent required. Law enforcement, security or military experience highly desirable.

     

    LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE:  Security, Law Enforcment, and Military experience desireable.

     

    CERTIFICATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain certification through the Private Investigators Licensing Board. Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required in accordance with SOC's Master Training Plan.

     

    LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain valid state drivers license.

     

    OTHER: Must be 21 years of age. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of Security Clearance as established by DoD regulations and Company policy Must also be able to obtain and maintain a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. Must be able to complete State and Army required weapon qualifications (9mm & 12 Gage).
