    The position of Project Manager 1, with SOC LLC, A Day and Zimmermann Company, is located at the Hawthorne Army Depot, near the modest, west central Nevada, “High-desert, mountain-side”, community of Hawthorne.     Hawthorne Army Depot, known as “The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world,” is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities, located in Northern Nevada and Northern California, including South Lake Tahoe, Reno/Sparks, Carson City, Fernley and Sparks, all of which offer abundant opportunities and access to high quality shopping, recreation, health care, education and entertainment.

    HWAD, is also located near the East Gate to Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Lakes, Heavenly and Mt. Rose ski resorts, and a comfortable 4 -5 hour drive North West of Las Vegas , NV. For our outdoor enthusiasts, there are abundant opportunities nearby for hiking, biking, fishing, camping, ATV/UTV and other sports.

    • Drafts proposed SOPs for demilitarization, renovation, or update of ammunition, both explosive loaded and inert, through various production stages. Oversees processes from technical documents, specifications, and drawings are within parameters set by available facilities and equipment. Ensures SOPs, Test Plans, IOP's and Material Safety Data Sheets are provided per schedule and adhered to throughout the processes. Ensures process equipment is ordered, installed and working.
    • Monitors and prepares designated reports relating to the financial performances (planned revenue vs. Cost of sales) and control work requirements and use of facilities for assigned programs on an as needed basis. Conducts assigned production studies to include utilization of man-hours, materials, supplies, and facilities.Reports financial performances (planned revenue vs. Cost of sales), control work requirements and use of facilities for those programs.
    • Monitors resource allocation to insure the availability of standing operating procedures, specifications, facilities, components, materials, tools, equipment, and personnel. Monitors the performance of quality control and safety requirements prior to start of each scheduled operation. Ensures SOPs, Test Plans, IOP's and Material Safety Data Sheets are provided per schedule and adhered to throughout the processes.
    • Performs designated general analytical studies and estimates of production trends. Reviews assigned production processes to include utilization of man-hours, materials, supplies, and facilities on an hourly basis. Maintains production data to improve future estimating. Analyzes actual expenditures against estimated budget and maintain current financial status for funded authorizations. Monitors and ensures ammunition records, hazardous waste records and BATF accountability records are maintained and correct.
    • Assists in preparation of Contract Pricing Proposals involving assigned projects relating to LAP, production, renovation, or demil projects. Initiates designated job orders, coordinates support services, and follows up on all scheduled work from the planning phase to final acceptance. Coordiantes availability and timely release of materials for a scheduled job. Makes appropriate adjustments and reports deficiencies and delays to desinated personnel, due to equipment, personnel, transportation ,etc. May perform other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned


    EDUCATION:  Minimum of High School Diploma or equiv., required. Associates degree in related field preferred


    LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE:  Minimum (3) three years of planning/Ammo experience required, including analytical assignments, techniques, fact gathering, and evaluation.


    CERTIFICATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by SOC’s Master Training Plan.


    LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid, State of Nevada, driver’s license. Must also be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Tobacco, Alcohol, and Firearms.
