    The position of Property Reutilization Officer, with SOC LLC, A Day and Zimmermann Company, is located at the Hawthorne Army Depot, near the modest, west central Nevada, “High-desert, mountain-side”, community of Hawthorne.     Hawthorne Army Depot, known as “The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world,” is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities, located in Northern Nevada and Northern California, including South Lake Tahoe, Reno/Sparks, Carson City, Fernley and Sparks, all of which offer abundant opportunities and access to high quality shopping, recreation, health care, education and entertainment.

    HWAD, is also located near the East Gate to Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Lakes, Heavenly and Mt. Rose ski resorts, and a comfortable 4 -5 hour drive North West of Las Vegas , NV. For our outdoor enthusiasts, there are abundant opportunities nearby for hiking, biking, fishing, camping, ATV/UTV and other sports.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides leadership and field support to the Manager, Assistant Managers and Program Management Office to plan and develop policies and to establish goals and objectives. Supervises and recommend the employment or terminaton, promotion or change of status of subordinate employees. 

     

    • Provides a property reutilization function for the Hawthorne Army Depot, which would include receipt, storage, accountability, preparation and sale of excess material and derived components for demilitarized material.
    • Prepares required documentation in accordance with Federal, State and DOD regulations and requirements for the sale and shipment of excess and derived materials. Prepares correspondence and reports as required. Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned. May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty, as needed.
    • Sets priorities, assigns work to subordinate employees and monitors subordinate employees work. Provides technical and administrative guidance. Initiates changes in established schedules based on priorities.Ensures compliance with company and governmental guidelines and regulations pertaining to the responsibilities of this position.
    • Upholds company values (Safety, Diversity, Integrity and Success). Performs other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned. May be assigned occasional duties of a higher level of difficulty than those listed above. Maintains high ethical standards, overall values of the business, and the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct to include cooperating during Company investigations. Reports potential and known safety and environmental concerns to the appropriate personnel or deptartment.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent required. A.S./A.A. in Materials Management, required. (Equivalent combination of formal education and directly related work experience may be considered)

     

    LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three (3) years experience in property disposal with at least one (1) year of supervisory experience, required. Must have a good working knowledge of materials classification as defined in Defense Disposal Manuals.

     

    CERTIFICATIONS: State of Nevada certified to dispose of Hazardous Wastes. Must be able to obtain and maintain all certifications as required by SOC's Master Training Plan.

     

    LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada drivers license. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

     

    OTHER: Experience in on-line sales such as e-bay and/or Craig's List.
