The position of Munitions Handler, with SOC LLC, A Day and Zimmermann Company, is located at the Hawthorne Army Depot, near the modest, west central Nevada, “High-desert, mountain-side”, community of Hawthorne. Hawthorne Army Depot, known as “The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world,” is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities, located in Northern Nevada and Northern California, including South Lake Tahoe, Reno/Sparks, Carson City, Fernley and Sparks, all of which offer abundant opportunities and access to high quality shopping, recreation, health care, education and entertainment.
HWAD, is also located near the East Gate to Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Lakes, Heavenly and Mt. Rose ski resorts, and a comfortable 4 -5 hour drive North West of Las Vegas , NV. EDUCATION: Minimum High school diploma or equivalent required.
LENGTH OF EXPERIENCE: No prior experience required. Previous Munitions experience helpful.
CERTIFICATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain required training in accordance with SOC's Master Training Plan.
LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada drivers license unless physically unqualified to obtain such a license. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of security clearance, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms clearance, Common Acces Card (CAC), and must pass local agency background check.
OTHER: Must be able to perform work duties, routinely, in a safe and effective manner, remaining alert and aware of potential work/safety hazards at all times, and especially alert while performing safety sensitive duties.
