  • Overview

    The Cyber Engineer 2 will be responsible for conducting, with minimal guidance, vulnerability research (VR) on computing systems and network protocols, reverse engineering (RE) of systems and software, and the development of VR & RE tools. The incumbent will conduct security assessments of computing systems while effectively applying static and dynamic software analysis tools and techniques, and will be responsible for contributing to high quality design documents, white papers, trade studies, and project reports.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides significant subject matter knowledge and focused research
    • Develops and maintains specialized engineering tools
    • Conducts vulnerability research and assessments
    • Analyzes malware
    • Conducts reverse engineering using commercial and customer provided tools
    • Maintains awareness of trends and techniques in computer and network vulnerabilities and countermeasures
    • Coordinates with test and Q/A staff
    • Mentors other junior Cyber Engineers

    Qualifications

    • 4 years relevant experience (or 2 w/ Bachelor's Degree in Comp Science or related field)
    • High School Diploma required
    • Must have one or more of the following skills/experience:
      • Reverse engineering, understanding of network protocols, malware analysis, penetration testing, cyber security assessments
    • Software development in C/C++/Python/Assembly
    • Proficient kernel-level and firmware development and debugging skills
    • Proficient with debuggers and RE tools (IDA or similar tools)
    • Thorough knowledge of Software security practices / techniques
    • Knowledge of one or more operating systems (desktop, enterprise, and mobile), static and/or dynamic software analysis, development of cyber security tools
    • Knowledge of hardware architectures and/or hardware design experience, RF and wireless protocol experience
    • Self starter and excellent communicator. 
    • Able to work in multi-disciplinary teams
    • Must be a U.S. Citizen
    • Top Secret Clearance required
    • Ability to pass a Polygraph required
