The position of Supply Clerk, with SOC LLC, A Day and Zimmermann Company, is located at the Hawthorne Army Depot, near the modest, west central Nevada, “High-desert, mountain-side”, community of Hawthorne. Hawthorne Army Depot, known as “The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world,” is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities, located in Northern Nevada and Northern California, including South Lake Tahoe, Reno/Sparks, Carson City, Fernley and Sparks, all of which offer abundant opportunities and access to high quality shopping, recreation, health care, education and entertainment.

HWAD, is also located near the East Gate to Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Lakes, Heavenly and Mt. Rose ski resorts, and a comfortable 4 -5 hour drive North West of Las Vegas , NV. This position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement.


  • Conducts inventory research, audits, receipt control, and release order functions.Processes documentation to change custodial and accountable records, i.e.: post receipts, MROs, ATRs, WRO's grid changes, lot changes, stock number changes, catalog changes, etc.
  • Obtains all required support documentation related to data base changes, prepares appropriate adjustments, and inputsinto LMP. Insures accurate postings are made to the custodial record.
  • Assists in preparation of ammunition transfer records, local receipts, MROs, etc.

    Monitors the location of all MRO receipts and movement of material scheduled for transfer within the storage and production areas.
  • Monitors control logs and registers applicable to receipt, MRO denials, investigations, location surveys, physical inventory, inventory schedules, quality control programs, ATRs, etc.
  • Operates a computer connected terminal device to type documents and reports. Perform general typing and a variety of clerical work of a routine nature, as needed or assigned. Maintain files and distribute SDS listings, cards, labels, etc.



EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent, required.



EXPERIENCE: Minimum of six (6) months of clerical expereince with appropriate typing/clerical skills. Munitions Handler or related experience is highly desired.



CERTIFICATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain Introduction to Ammunition (Ammo 45) Certificate, AMMO 68 (Military Munitions Rule) and various training modules for LMP. Must be able to obtain and maintain all required training as outlined in SOC's Master Training Plan.



LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS: Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid drivers license, CAC Card, and appropriatelevel of government security clearances as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
