Overview

The position of Compliance and Training Inspector, with SOC LLC, A Day and Zimmermann Company, is located at the Hawthorne Army Depot, near the modest, west central Nevada, “High-desert, mountain-side”, community of Hawthorne. Hawthorne Army Depot, known as “The Largest ammunition storage facility in the world,” is centrally located near the modest community of Hawthorne, Nevada, at the base of 11,000 ft. Mt. Grant and at the south end of large and historical Walker Lake on Highway 95. We are located within a comfortable 1 to 2 hour drive of numerous communities and cities, located in Northern Nevada and Northern California, including South Lake Tahoe, Reno/Sparks, Carson City, Fernley and Sparks, all of which offer abundant opportunities and access to high quality shopping, recreation, health care, education and entertainment.

HWAD, is also located near the East Gate to Yosemite National Park, Mammoth Lakes, Heavenly and Mt. Rose ski resorts, and a comfortable 4 -5 hour drive North West of Las Vegas , NV. For our outdoor enthusiasts, there are abundant opportunities nearby for hiking, biking, fishing, camping, ATV/UTV and other sports.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains and maintains all current and necessary certifications and provide IVES Materials Handling Equipment (MHE) training as assigned and needed for designated mobile equipment and vehicles, including but not limited to forklifts, bobcats and aerial lifts.
  • Obtains and maintain all current and necessary certifications in order to provide appropriate fall protection and confined space safety training. (capital safety or equivalent certification) Follows up on all training provided in order to ensure proper utilization of equipment and compliance with safe operating procedures.
  • Obtains and maintains all current and necessary asbestos inspector certifications in order to lead and provide appropriate safety training as assigned and needed. Leads and conducts regular building inspections relating to asbestos (in buildings, plumbing, roofs, etc.) and exposure, sampling and recommending remedial actions.
  • Maintains records, for all assigned training, in an organized, secure and appropriate manner. Provide professional level feedback to training program participants and managerial leadership. Effectively coordinates all necessary and proper logistics related to assigned training activities, including, materials, venues & equipment. Takes appropriate actions to help ensure compliance with designated standards, up to and including the ability to cease operations of specific equipment or processes, as needed, in order to ensure equipment or processes meet safety compliance standards.
  • Facilitates learning through a variety of delivery methods including on-the-job coaching. May perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

EDUCATIONMinimum of High School diploma or equiv.required, A.A. or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:  Minimum of two (2) years experience as licensed or certified operator/trainer of mobile equipment/vehicles (I.e. Bobcats, Forklifts, Skytracks, 4-wheel ATVs, etc.), required.  

 

CERTIFICATIONS:  Must satisfactorily complete all training and/or certifications relating to the qualification to train other employees in the proper and safe operation of designated mobile equipment and vehicles.

 

LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS:  Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid State of Nevada drivers license unless physically unqualified to obtain such a license. Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate level of government security clearance as well as a clearance through the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

 

OTHER:  Must be able to work a flexible training schedule, (40 hour work week) including varied shifts, varied days off, 8 or 10 hour shifts.
