Overview

SOC is recruiting for an Armorer for our Livermore, CA location.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the oversight of the Live Fire Range operations.
  • Responsible for Firearms Training including curriculum development for firearms and act as a Firearms Instructor.
  • Oversees firearms and ammunition storage, maintenance, issue and inventory.
  • Responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing all Protective Force firearms.
  • Conducts semi-annual firearms inspections, maintains Firearms Inspection Records as well as tag-outs and tests fire records, maintains Dye Marking Cartridge (DMC) weapons and conduct annual duty ammunition change-out.
  • In addition, they abide by all WSI policies and keep the Training Manager informed of events and issues within the program.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience maintaining small arms weapons is required.
  • Certified in the safe and proper handling of hazardous waste.
  • Strong writing and communication skills. Capability to balance a variety of priorities and tasks. Strong organizational skills. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Training from a recognized agency, school, military, or federal service school in the handling and maintenance of small arms including:
  • NTC Armorer Training (re-certification every three years)
  • Factory Armorer Training (GLOCK) (re-certification every three years)
  • Factory Armorer Training (H&K 416) (re-certification every three years)
  • Recommend successful completion of the following NNSI/NTC training courses prior to or with in eighteen months of assignment to this position:
  • Curriculum Development Training (MIT-210)
  • Job Analysis (MIT-120)
  • Basic Instructor Training (MIT-111)
  • Firearms Instructor Certification (PFT-401)
  • Must be physically fit and able to work extended hours and weekends on occasion as required. Must be able to safely move, lift, and carry 25 pounds. Subject to random drug testing. Must adequately assess and manage emergency situations.
