SOC is recruiting for a Fitness Specialist for the NNSS Protective Force Contract in Nevada.
Execute the Physical Fitness Program (PFP) to directly control safety and operational readiness for the Protective Force. Requires comprehensive knowledge of 10 CFR, Part 1046 and DOE M 473.3 along with professional expertise to yield a primary end result of successful program management.
Schedule PFP appointments: Annual run qualifications, fitness assessments, and Phase 3 physicals for all armed personnel defined by 10 CFR Part 1046
Develop and implement Physical Fitness Remediation Program to safely accelerate physical fitness program deficiencies. Supervise and develop individualized remedial exercise regimens for run qualification failures and physical fitness assessment failure.
Manage and maintain physical fitness records for all armed personnel including annual run qualification, physicals and physical fitness assessments.
Prepare NA-70 data deliverables and PFP data to NNSS NFO.
Knowledge of Federal Regulations, Department of Energy (DOE), NNSA, NNSS and SOC policies, procedures, and orders, especially 10 CFR 1046, which pertain to physical fitness training and testing
Ability to recognize and formulate solutions to fitness and scheduling related problems as well as diagnose exercise problems and prescribe appropriate exercises
Knowledge of basic exercise physiology, basic nutrition and weight management, principles and practices of instruction and leading physical activity, health appraisal and fitness evaluations
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet multiple suspense dates, while maintaining strict attention to detail
Intermediate-level computer skills that include all the Microsoft Office Suite of software
Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, Physical Education or an equivalent discipline preferred.
Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in DOE, DOD or other government agency Physical Fitness Program Management
Certified Athletic Trainer/National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), Functional Movement Screen certification (FMS) and Certified Health/Fitness Instructor /American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM).
AED/CPR certification and an ACSM certification as a fitness instructor. US Driver’s License and be able to obtain a Nevada Driver’s License.
