SOC is recruiting for a Training Records Specialist for the NNSS Protective Force Contract in Nevada. 


Maintains a comprehensive Records Management System supporting all aspects of the Training Operation for SOC NNSS, including individual training records (ITR) for each employee as required by DOE Orders, NNSA, NNSS and SOC policies. This is an entry-level position performing routine work, following specific guidance. This position monitors and provides oversight for all record control of training activity, is accountable for the training records management system and assuring compliance with SOC NNSS policy, DOE orders and NNSA NFO requirements, and aids in the development of budgets pertaining to training records management, scheduling and coordination of training. Works with Operations Administrative Assistant and the DOE National Training Center (NTC) to schedule and manage training at the NTC. Coordinates with Operations Administrative Assistant to schedule training at non-NTC schools.


  • Maintain SOC NNSS record/documentation of all training conducted.  Maintain Individual Training Files.
  • Prepares monthly reports and other reoccurring reports to include training hours conducted, EMETL information required for training needs analysis reports.
  • Provide training record support for DOE, NNSA, NNSS NFO, and SOC, audits, inspections, and surveys.
  • Conduct self-assessments on ITRs, rosters, and the training electronic database.


  • Knowledge of DOE Orders, NNSA, NNSS, and SOC policies and regulations pertaining to Training and Training Records Management
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks, including assignment of proper prioritization and maintaining strict attention to detail; exercise initiative, make independent decisions regarding training records, and work under pressure
  • Intermediate-level computer skills that include all the Microsoft Office Suite of software;
  • Ability to evaluate rosters, electronic database, and ITRs for accuracy of documentation
  • Ability to recognize and formulate solutions to training records problems
  • Must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent. College courses in record management or business preferred.  
  • Three (3) years with a degree
  • Valid US Driver's License with the ability to obtain Nevada Driver's License
  • DOE "Q" Clearance
