Overview

SOC is recruiting for a HR Generalist for our Nevada location.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, through coordination with SOC Human Resources, all benefits from enrollment to termination to include COBRA notifications and premium payments. Act as a liaison for all employees.
  • Coordinate and administer SOC Nevada employee security clearance processing 
  • Support Human Resources Manager in the development and update of the SOC Nevada Policy and Resource Manual
  • Workers' Compensation- Administer Workers Compensation process through coordination with SOC Human Resources and track all workers' compensation injuries for reporting requirements to include restricted duty, return to work salary adjustments.
  • Coordinate, administer, and track HRP paperwork to include initial paperwork, recertification paperwork, and supervisor reviews.
  • Maintain a variety of Human Resources Information in corporate and local databases with employee confidential and sensitive data.

Qualifications

  • Federal, state, DOE, SOC Nevada rules and regulations regarding employment practices and procedures, benefits administration, personnel security, the Human Reliability Program (HRP), Fitness for Duty and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP);
  • Human Resources data management and report writing preferably in an enterprise system such as SAP, Oracle etc.
  • Interpret laws, regulations, rules, policies and procedures and the prevailing Collective Bargaining Agreement as they relate to Company provided health and welfare and retirement plans
  • Intermediate-level computer skills that include all the Microsoft Office Suite of software
  • Establish and maintain an effective working relationship with staff, external agencies and the general public
  • High School Diploma. Bachelor's degree in HR preferred.
  • Five (5) years’ experience in HR Management, 3 years as Human Resource Generalist
  • Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification, and/or WorldatWork’s Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification desired
  • Valid US Driver’s License and be able to obtain a Nevada Driver’s License
  • DOE “Q” clearance authorization
