SOC is recruiting for a Budget Analyst for our Nevada location.


  • Complete all SOC Nevada accounting system processes to ensure fair presentation in conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Travel Regulation (FTR), and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to meet contractual obligations and government regulations. This will include coordination of all accounting efforts with SOC and D&Z corporate accounting representatives.
  • Prepare accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparation of an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.  Confirm financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; preparing special reports
  • Compile, review and analyze financial data to prepare, generate and process all journal entries and reports for expense reconciliation, Balance Sheet data, monthly, special projects, end of month and year end requirements.
  • Formulate and execute the business unit's budget, solve complex budget issues, and project the impact of DOE and SOC Nevada directives. Develop and oversee compliance of SOC Nevada budget policies, procedures and systems.  Provide budget support to Directors and Managers in the formulation of division and departmental budgets
  • Develop and maintain standard financial reports Total System P&Ls.  Provides timely and accurate submission of processing, funding reconciliation and deliverables to SOC Nevada, SOC Corporate and other Regulatory Agencies.


  • Knowledge in/of: financial processes including forecasting, cost tracking, and funding.; internal, financial-auditing practices; Auditing for cost saving initiatives, internal controls and fiscal efficiencies; DOE and SOC budgeting and policies, procedures and practices; Project Management principles and practices
  • Ability to: work on multiple projects with varying priorities and deadlines and to take ownership of problems and work independently toward their resolution; Use PC/Network based software for analyzing budgets and performing accounting functions as well as preparing complex spreadsheet/graphical presentations
  • Working knowledge and application of accounting/payroll principles as outlined in GAAP and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) as well as government accounting principles.
  • Working knowledge and application Federal FTR and FAR, state, DOE and SOC Nevada regulations, and policies and procedures regarding payroll processing and how it applies to the SOC Nevada environment
  • Proven intermediate level skills in the use of Microsoft Office Professional Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • Three (3) years’ experience in budgeting and accounting or business related field.
  • Valid US Driver’s License and be able to obtain a Nevada Driver’s License
  • DOE “Q” clearance authorization
