Overview

SOC is recruiting for a Lieutenant, SPO I Basic Readiness for our Nevada location.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises the activities, responsibilities, projects and tasks of the Lieutenants and SPO personnel assigned to his/her area of responsibility including evaluating performance. Schedules and facilitates meetings with Lieutenants (DAF Commander is the only Lieutenant that supervises other Lieutenants).
  • Deploys personnel during responses and execution of contingency plans.
  • Provides administrative oversight by reviewing and verifying reports, logs, and forms for accuracy.
  • Interprets policies and regulations and instructs subordinates.
  • Provides daily operational support to the Protective Force Operations Manager, participating and assisting in the management of the daily business and department operations.
  • Conducts investigations on security or personnel issues.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of all SOC Nevada site security procedures and policies to include extensive knowledge of the Security Incident Response Plan.
  • Federal and State Laws and Regulations, Department of Energy (DOE) Orders, Manuals, Guides, and Standards and SOC policies, procedures, and orders as they relate to Protective Force services, Classified Matter, and Operations Security    
  • Supervisory skills to include planning, organizing, scheduling, team building, problem solving, conflict resolution, and directing activities of section employees, conducting performance appraisals and inquiries that address employee performance
  • Intermediate-level computer skills that include all the Microsoft Office Suite of software
  • Meet 10 CFR 1046 Basic Readiness security police officer requirements, to include:  Mental alertness and reliable judgment
  • High School Diploma
  • A minimum of three (4) years PF or similar law enforcement/military experience is required, with at least four (4) years in a supervisory capacity
  • Successful participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP), SOC Nevada Basic Supervisor certification, Basic Security Police Officer Training
  • Valid US Driver’s License and be able to obtain a Nevada Driver’s License
  • DOE “Q” clearance authorization
