Overview:

Directs the strategy, design, development and implementation of company-wide human resources policies and programs covering HR Generalist support to assigned business unit(s) to include:  sourcing, selection and employment; orientation, training and development; employee and labor relations; compensation; compliance and diversity; succession planning; organization development; relocation; health and benefits, etc.



Responsibilities:
  1. Provides consultation to business and employees on all aspects of human resources strategy and policy.
  2. Develop and implement HR strategies company-wide.
  3. Develop and implement corporate policies and programs within the business unit, while advocating business unit needs at the corporate level.
  4. Develop, implement and audit sourcing, recruiting, selection and placement practices for business.
  5. Ensures efforts are synchronized with corporate organizational development/organizational effectiveness initiatives.
  6. Provides counsel and leads organization optimization including restructurings, realignments and other methods for optimizing people resources.
  7. Establish and manage the termination process.
  8. Provide HR leadership for entire line of business (s), manufacturing sites, and/or union environments.
  9. Establishes, implements and audits compensation, recognition and rewards programs in conjunction with corporate compensation staff.
  10. Establishes, implements and audits health, welfare and benefit programs for business in conjunction with corporate benefits staff.
  11. Develop, establish, implement, and manage various business unit and/or company-wide programs (e.g., annual salary and bonus planning process, mergers & acquisitions HR due diligence and integration, management development, labor negotiations, reduction in force, etc.).
  12. Manage professional staff.
  13. Assure that operations are conducted in accordance with the Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct and applicable law and regulation; take lead roles in corrective action necessary to restore conformity with ethical and compliance standards; serve as role models and actively foster employee awareness of and commitment to the Code.
  14. Design, implement, and manage expatriate programs, including emergency evacuation and survivor assistance.
  15. Provide support to company programs to recruit, hire, and manage foreign nationals including foreign labor laws, employee communications, and internal processes.
  16. Ensure compliance with all Federal, State, Local, International, and Foreign HR laws and regulations.
  17. Serve as an ambassador to work sites.  Required to travel up to 50% of the time, including international travel to austere locations that may be located in combat areas.
  18. Drive cost out of the business and engineer compensation, benefit and other programs to meet the needs of the enterprise.
  19. Ensure that the company has effective communication systems including the use of technology, coaching business leaders, and providing helpful, compliant written materials.


Qualifications:
  1. Able to effectively collaborate with company leadership in the development of D&Z’s strategic plan.
  2. Able to effectively lead a critical business process, market or function and define the priorities, plans and objectives to support strategic direction for the company.
  3. Broad-based experience in both strategic HR generalist work, OD and HR specialties.
  4. Strong investigative/analytical/decision analysis skills.
  5. Strong business acumen; ability to learn, understand and converse around significant business issues.
  6. Ability to simultaneously be strategic and tactical, and to juggle multiple priorities in a high volume environment.
  7. Excellent project management skills.
  8. Excellent diagnostic, design and facilitation skills.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  10. In depth knowledge of employment laws.
  11. Direct experience with SCA and CBA.
  12. Knowledgeable of Facility Security requirements, ability to obtain a “Secret” security clearance.
  13. US Citizen
  14. Experience managing both HR functional teams and multidiscipline project teams
  15. Knowledgeable about specifying, designing, configuring, training, and testing HRIS and automated recruiting tools.
  16. Ability to motivate and lead.

 

Minimum Education and Experience

 

Masters Degree in Human Resources (preferred), Organizational Development, Business, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.

 

10 to 15 years of HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years HR management experience.
